The Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Initiative (GCACI), IPPF 

The Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Initiative (GCACI) was implemented in 22 Member
Associations (MA) 1 across four regions (Africa, Arab World, East and South East Asia, and South Asia)
from 2007-2021. Not all 22 MAs were involved in the GCACI programme for the full 15 years - some
joined later and some left prior to 2021.

The overall goal of GCACI was to improve access to quality comprehensive abortion care (CAC) and
contraceptive services. The objectives at the MA level were to: increase access to quality CAC
services, including treatment for incomplete abortion, and increase access to quality contraceptive
services and post-abortion contraception.
